Wounded Warrior Battalion-East is comprised of seven detachments, in addition to the battalion's headquarters and barracks at Camp Lejeune, N.C. The focus of effort for WWBn-E is taking care of wounded, ill and injured Marines and their families as they proceed through the Integrated Disability Evaluation System process. With a full-time staff of more than 200 Marines, Sailors and civilian professionals, we are dedicated to ensuring care of our Wounded Warriors throughout the recovery and transition process.

Since 1991 Fisher Houses have been serving military families during times of medical crisis. The comfort homes are built by the Fisher House Foundation, Inc. and given as gifts to the military services and the Veteran's Administration. The foundation was established by noted philanthropist and patriot Zachery Fisher and wife Elizabeth. In June 1999 Mr. Fisher passed away but his family continues to build the facilities and carry on Zachery's legacy of helping military men and women and their families. The Camp Lejeune facility is within walking distance of the hospital and Wounded Warrior Complex. It is a comfortable temporary home, filled with warm, caring people who help family members endure the stresses associated with a loved one's serious medical condition. The Fisher House enables families to stay together, cook meals, do laundry, and relax in a "home away from home" atmosphere. There are no other facilities on military installations that provide this caring, compassionate environment. Fisher Houses do not receive tax money or military dollars. Charitable contributions provide the majority of funding for operations of the Fisher House facilities."
